About the Boston Tooling & Machining Association

Boston Tooling & Machining Association, (BTMA) is the local affiliated chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association; the premier association for the precision custom manufacturing industry in the United States.  Our primary purpose is to promote the precision custom manufacturing industry in the region and to provide our members with the services and information that will assist them become the “best in the business.”  We draw our membership from manufacturers located in Eastern Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire & Rhode Island.    

Who are our members?

Our Regular Members are businesses, with workforces ranging from 2 to 200 employees. Many are family-owned and operated. Their capabilities range from design and build prototyping, to production of quality parts for the automotive, aerospace, electronics, power generation, appliance, environmental, defense, construction, and medical industries. Many of our Regular Members are      ISO 9001, AS 9100, and QS 9000 Certified. A number are NADCAP Certified and ITAR Compliant.

Our Associate Members are companies and organizations that provide service, equipment, or materials to the precision custom manufacturing industry. They include: electroplaters and finishing companies, metals suppliers, quality and certification experts, insurance companies, industrial suppliers, shop software providers and machine tool distributors.

Local and National Networking Opportunities:

Through both our local meetings and national conferences/events members have opportunities to network and learn.  NTMA Supply Chain Network Events bring qualified buyers and engineers from leading manufacturers face-to-face with our members at a one day, cost-effective sales networking event.  National conferences and conventions offer members the opportunity to hear top-notch presentations on critical business issues as well as plenty of time to network and share during industry roundtables, group receptions and events.  Our local chapter meetings bring members together at company tours, dinner presentations, technology showcases, breakfast seminars, and social events.
