Types of Membership

There are two categories of membership in the Boston Tooling & Machining Association, Inc. (BTMA): Regular Membership and Associate Membership.

Regular Membership
Any firm, corporation, or business entity regularly engaged in precision custom manufacturing, through tooling and machining, is eligible to become a Regular member in the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA). Any Regular NTMA member in Eastern MA, New Hampshire and Maine may choose to join the Boston Chapter (BTMA). Regular members have access to all of NTMA’s benefits, services and programs.

Precision Custom Manufacturing is defined to include
companies engaged in:

Die building
Mold building
Precision machining
Special tooling
Special machine building
 
Die building & production
Mold building and production
Precision fabricating
Special tooling & production
Special machine building & production

Regular memberships are processed through the National Tooling and Machining Association. For more information on becoming a Regular member, you may contact BTMA, our regional membership office, or NTMA Headquarters.

Associate Membership
A firm, corporation or business entity that is regularly engaged in providing service, equipment, materials or supplies to the precision custom manufacturing machining industry is eligible to become an Associate member of the Boston Tooling & Machining Association, Inc. (BTMA). Associate members have access to all of the programs and services provided by BTMA. They also have access to a limited number of services and programs offered by the NTMA.

BTMA Associate members are:

Electroplaters and Metal Finishers
Financial Institutions
Independent Insurance Agencies Industrial Suppliers
Machine Tool Distributors
Machine Tool Repair & Service
Metal Recyclers
Metals Suppliers
Tooling Suppliers

Our Regular members recommend Associate Members for membership. Associate members pay dues to the BTMA, based on a flat rate, renewable annually. Click here for a listing of current Associate Members. For more information about Associate membership, you may contact BTMA.
